Nottinghamshire company Arch Communications has broken through the £100,000 barrier in donations to local good causes.

The business, based in East Leake in Rushcliffe, has reached the impressive total in its sixth year of trading.

East Midlands Trains customers in Radcliffe-on-Trent will now benefit from a new timetable:

There are a number of support schemes locally to help businesses take on apprentices and create employment opportunities. These range from a county council grant of £1,500 for firms employing apprentices to national apprenticeship grants for employers of 16-to-24-year-olds. Many attendees of the Rushcliffe Business Partnership monthly networking meetings at Escabeche in West Bridgford will be used to regular networking on the first Friday of every month - but did you know there are also monthly networking opportunities in Ruddington? The Ruddington Business Partnership meets on the third Friday of every month at the Ruddington Arms in Wilford Road and these meetings are set to continue into 2017.

Among the businesses and business people being recognised in the awards were Plumtree Fish and Chips in the food and drink category and Rushcliffe Business Partnership committee member Shamshad Walker for her work in supporting the local economy. The next monthly networking morning for Rushcliffe Business Partnership takes place at Escabeche in West Bridgford on Friday 2 December. The event runs from 8am to 9.30am and is free to attend. These meetings take place throughout the year on the first Friday of every month - you do not need to be a member to attend.

On Friday 4 November, the Partnership hosts its usual networking session on the first Friday of every month at Escabeche in West Bridgford. The event runs 8am to 9am and is free to attend.

Smoke-free Life Nottinghamshire is a new service that launched on 1 April 2016. Run by Solutions 4 Health, it provides services to help prevent people from taking up smoking, protect people from the dangers of second-hand smoke and support people to quit.

The Midlands Engine initiative, aiming to boost economic growth across the Midlands including through enhanced trade and investment, is seeking interested businesses to join its trade mission to China. 

Save the date: the Rushcliffe Business Partnership Annual Showcase takes place on Tuesday 1 November 2016 – returning to the venue of the British Geological Survey in Keyworth. 

Colleagues from businesses across Nottinghamshire, including Rushcliffe Business Partnership chair John Collins, are set to soar from the skies at the Trent Bridge zip wire event.

Running a business can bring with it a large number of corporate and legal responsibilities. To help businesses meet their responsibilities, Rushcliffe Borough Council has produced a web area dedicated to business rules and regulations. Information is provided on a number of areas including business rates, licensing, health and safety, food safety and trading standards.
